Whereas the original language text of Hebrew/Aramaic and Greek and the diverse vernacular translations underlying the Authorized King James Bible is the only received text perpetuated in historical continuity by way of faithful Bible-believers from the original autographs and apart from the apostasy of Roman Catholicism; and whereas the Authorized King James Bible was translated by superior texts, translators, techniques, and theology in an age of faith (as opposed to the age of skepticism that produced the critical Greek texts and modern Bible versions); and whereas the Authorized King James Bible has been defended by a consensus of the common faith of English-speaking saints for nearly four hundred years as the English standard of God’s Holy Scriptures; and whereas the Almighty has undeniably blessed the use of the Authorized King James Bible in and through the ministries of Bible-believing churches, evangelists, missionaries, and street preachers for four centuries; and whereas a plethora of foreign Bible translations which are based upon the Authorized King James Bible have born genuine spiritual fruit all over the world; and whereas the Authorized King James Bible and those who defend and use it are facing increased ridicule and oppression from church leaders, educational institutions, and mission agencies (evidence of the text’s purity):
IT IS CRUCIAL THAT AN ACCURATE TRANSLATION OF THE HOLY BIBLE IN THE COMMON NEPALI TONGUE BE PRODUCED—A TRANSLATION THAT UNERRINGLY MIRRORS THE SCRIPTURES AS ORIGINALLY INSPIRED BY GOD, FAULTLESSLY PRESERVED WITH HISTORICAL CONTINUITY IN THE CONTEXT OF BIBLE-BELIEVING CHRISTIANITY, AND CLEARLY MANIFESTED IN THE ENGLISH AUTHORIZED KING JAMES BIBLE. THE NEPALI PEOPLE DESERVE THE OPTION OF A PURE BIBLE IN THEIR COMMON TONGUE.
In addition to the need for an accurate Bible translation, Nepali-speaking people would also benefit from basic Bible study tools such as a concordance and chain references—tools that are currently and completely unavailable. Thus, in producing a faithful Nepali Bible translation, it behooves us to simultaneously translate and publish a detailed concordance and a system of chain references for study purposes.
The work only begins with translation. As individual Books of the Bible are completed and once the entire Jagerna Translation is finalized, these must be published in such a way as to be affordable for the average Nepali, accessible for Nepali-speaking people living abroad, and available in large quantity for the distribution efforts of Christian ministries (both foreign and local) that labor amongst Nepali people.
Be it known that Project Jagerna embraces the Great Commission responsibility to FREELY distribute the Bible, Scripture portions, and Gospel tracts containing accurately translated Scripture passages en masse amongst Nepali people all over the world, and we will indefinitely labor with organizations such as Full Proof Gospel Ministries and Bible-believing Nepali churches to see that the world’s 60 million Nepalis have an opportunity to freely receive a pure copy of God’s Holy Word in their native tongue. The Jagerna Translation WILL NOT be copyrighted, and all distribution under the umbrella of this project will be FREE as the Lord provides.
Due to government instability and political in-fighting, there exists a unique open door for the public preaching of the Gospel of Jesus Christ in Nepal, a door that could slam shut at any time. Because Almighty God has ordained the foolishness of preaching to save those that believe (I Corinthians 1:21) and because “faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God” (Romans 10:17), we deem that one of the best ways to preserve the pure Word of God for the Nepali people–second only to the translation, publication, and free distribution thereof–is to preach it publicly and with boldness in the streets and lanes of the city (Luke 14:21) and in the highways and hedges (Luke 14:23). Bold evangelism and public preaching must accompany any Bible translation/dissemination effort.
As we labor toward the completion and dissemination of a pure and complete Nepali Bible, all the while publishing and freely distributing Scripture portions and Gospel tracts, Project Jagerna also remains committed to doctrinally-sound public proclamation of the pure Word of God in the streets of Kathmandu, in the villages, and wherever Nepali-speaking people may be found. The last thing Nepal needs is more humanitarian aid or social-gospel outreach. A pure Bible must be printed, freely distributed, and publicly proclaimed.
